Province of Drenthe awards project to MCX once again
In May 2015 the province of Drenthe called for tenders for the technical application management of the Oracle E-Business Suite and all Oracle databases. The province of Drenthe already assigned a project to MCX back in 2011 and with this project will renew their collaboration.
OpenSSL - Logjam security bug
On May 20th a bug in the OpenSSL library has been published under the name Logjam. This bug allows an attacker to force a lower encryption cipher on an encrypted connection than previously agreed upon between server and client.
Slechte performance onderwijsinformatiesystemen belemmert innovatie
Onderwijsinformatiesystemen die slecht scoren op het gebied van performance belemmeren het innovatievermogen van het hoger onderwijs. Dat stelt MCX, kenniscentrum voor technisch beheer van Oracle applicaties, in haar nieuwste whitepaper ‘Hoe beheert u onderwijssystemen anno nu?’.
OpenSSL vulnerability patches
On March 19th a few patches have been released to fix vulnerabilities in the OpenSSL code library. This library is used by web servers to encrypt communication between server and PC. MCX is currently investigating whether there are servers vulnerable. We will keep you updated via the web site.
DAB VLOOT, gemeente Rotterdam en SSC PS besteden technisch beheer uit aan MCX
MCX, kenniscentrum voor technisch beheer van Oracle applicaties en databases, heeft in een periode van drie maanden drie aanbestedingen gewonnen. Tevens maakt MCX nog kans op de gunning van een vierde aanbesteding.
Long-term cooperation with the municipality of The Hague
In January this year the municipality of The Hague submitted a tender for housing and hosting of the Oracle E-Business Suite. Besides housing and hosting the tender also included the technical management of the Oracle E-Business Suite and the Oracle data warehouses.
Oracle EBS 11i will be remaining on 'Sustaining Support' level for 1 more year
As of December 1st 2013 Oracle EBS 11i (11.5.10.2) has moved to 'Sustaining Support'. This implies that no more updates, patches, security and data fixes will be created. There will also be no more functional developments for this version of the E-Business Suite.
GHOST vulnerability (CVE-2015-0235)
On January 20th 2015 a bug has been published that is related to the Linux Operating System. This bug allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to execute malicious code. A solution has been release which will be installed on all relevant servers.
Oracle E-Business Suite database bug
On January 20th 2015 a bug has been published in the Oracle E-Business Suite database. This bug allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to inject malicious code into the database. This allows an attacker for example to retrieve data from the database.
NTP bug (ICSA-14-353-01)
On December 19th a bug has been published in NTP software. NTP is used for time synchronization. This software allows for a denial of service attack on the servers running this NTP service. MCX has applied an update on the servers, that are managed by MCX.
