Mutual trust is at the basis of the optimum cooperation between MCX and the Radboud UMC
The cooperation between MCX and the Radboud University Medical Centre, the Radboud UMC, goes way back. Well over ten years ago, when the hospital transferred from an outdated hospital information system to the Oracle E-Business Suite ERP package, MCX was asked to take care of its technical management. From that moment onwards the cooperation between both parties developed into a close relationship of trust. "Confidence is key", says Wally Janssen, Oracle EBS team leader at the Radboud UMC. "Ultimately MCX helps us to provide better care to our patients."
Technical management of Oracle applications
When the Radboud UMC decided to replace their old systems with the Oracle E-Business Suite, it was clear that third party support would be needed with regard to technical management. "In 2005 we launched the project. A year later the Oracle systems and applications went live. Initially used for HRM and payroll only, the finance, logistics and purchasing modules were added at a later stage. In those days hosting was done through our Shared Service Centre, jointly owned with the Radboud University." At that time, MCX was responsible for its remote management, until the Radboud UMC and the Radboud University split in 2011. To secure continuity the hospital decided to have its hardware hosted through the MCX Data Centre too.
